Webinar: Real-World Challenges, Real Solutions: Building an IPV Response That Health Centers Can Sustain

1:30 pm
Community health centers (CHCs) widely recognize the urgency of addressing intimate partner violence (IPV), yet many struggle to move beyond screening requirements toward a coordinated, sustainable response that truly supports both patients and staff. This interactive learning session will focus on practical, real-world strategies for building an effective IPV response using data and data tools. Amelia Fox, Senior Clinical Improvement Specialist at Azara Healthcare, will facilitate a discussion on leveraging existing data tools within the Center for Primary Care Informatics (CPCI) to identify gaps, monitor performance, and guide IPV-focused quality improvement efforts. The learning session will also examine how to implement data-driven workflows that are feasible in busy clinical environments and adaptable across multiple CHC settings. In addition, Ken Metasavage, Preventive Health Program Manager at Finger Lakes Health Center, will provide a working example of team-based efforts to develop an IPV response for at-risk adolescents. The health center's efforts to maximize staff capacity, address common barriers to care, and evaluate lessons learned will be highlighted and explored. This perspective will help participants consider practical solutions that align with their own organizational contexts and high-risk populations.
Whether your organization is just beginning to address IPV or seeking to strengthen an existing approach, this session will provide actionable insights to help move from documentation to meaningful impact — improving patient safety, increasing staff confidence, and advancing whole-person care.
Participants of this learning will leave with the ability to:
  • Identify common implementation challenges that hinder an effective IPV response in health centers;
  • Use data to guide planning, track progress, and support performance improvement;
  • Apply data-driven workflow strategies that integrate an IPV response into routine care;
  • Understand practical approaches for addressing IPV among adolescents and other at-risk populations and
  • Strengthen coordination across health center team members.
